Generasi Marikh Academy: Moonshot 2019


July 20, 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the first humans landing on the Moon on July 20, 1969 as part of NASA’s Apollo 11 lunar mission. Generasi Marikh Academy plans to capture and expand on that excitement by hosting a space party with talks from our first Malaysian astronaut, space industry speakers, and a screening of a newly released Apollo 11 documentary. Guest speakers:

1. Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor

Dato’ Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor is a Malaysian orthopaedic surgeon and the first Malaysian astronaut. He launched to the International Space Station on 10 October 2007.

2. Lt. Colonel (Dr) Amei Farina

Aviation Medicine specialist from Royal Malaysian Air Force’s (RMAF) Institute of Aviation Medicine, a world class facility providing various forms of aerophysiology training and studies for RMAF pilots and astronaut candidates.

3. Shahrizal Ide Moslin

Researcher at the National Space Agency of Malaysia (ANGKASA), in the Space Application and Technology Development Division. Currently pursuing his PhD in Economics focusing on Space Economy and Space Industry.
